I know that I’ve landed in Los Angeles, California, because Nick Lachey, Mr. Jessica Simpson, walks by me in the terminal and only the tourists’ gawk. I gawk. I’m standing like a star-struck fan in LAX because of one reason, Grant Chastain, my best friend who won tickets to the 2005 MTV Movie Awards and took me along as his guest.
I’m going to the MTV Movie Awards. In the immortal words of Peter Griffin, “Freakin’ Sweet!” How did this amazing turn of events occur? Well, sit right back and let me tell you a story. Grant Chastain is one lucky SOB.
I really wanted a national championship this year for Illinois. This team of destiny reached their goal of a Final Four berth and made it farther than any other Illinois team in history, but couldn’t finish the job. They are the best Illinois basketball team ever; better than the ’89 team.
I don’t believe it.- Dennis McDevitt, my Dad. It was by far the best final four minutes of basketball I have ever witnessed. A few days later, It still stuns me how the Fighting Illini Men’s Basketball team came back and won a contest that by most accounts was over.
I’m changing my comics buying. It is my only vice, addiction and habit. I don’t smoke, rarely drink and never use drugs. I don’t spend money at strip clubs (…anymore) and I don’t play video games.
